Update searchText ref eagerly at setState time
...
Setting the ref during render doesn't fix the race — if React hasn't
re-rendered yet, the ref is just as stale as the closure. Write to the
ref at the same time as the setState call so it's current before React
schedules the re-render.

Fix stale searchText in search submit handler
...
The onSubmit handler captured searchText from the render closure, so if
the user typed fast and hit enter before React committed the last
keystroke's re-render, the search would use a stale value. Use a ref
instead so the handler always reads the latest searchText at call time.
